The Portuguese Gourmet Feast 2026 was held at Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16 ahead of yesterday’s Portuguese National Day and as part of “June, Month of Portugal”, according to a statement yesterday by the Portugal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCILC).

Portugal’s National Day is celebrated on June 10.

The event, a highlight in this month’s celebratory programme that took place on Monday, was sponsored by BNU and CCILC. The statement added that the event was also part of the ongoing fourth edition of the Gastronomic Route “Comer e Beber à Portuguesa”, or “Eating and Drinking in the Portuguese Style”, wherein 35 restaurants across Macau are offering themed menus and a 10.6 percent discount.

Featured at the event were 28 wines from nine Portuguese regions curated by Vino Veritas, Portuguese egg tarts from Manteigaria, a selection of Portuguese food brands, and a buffet highlighting Portugal’s culinary diversity, the statement said.

The statement also noted Portugal’s growing agri-food sector exports with global sales above €8 billion (74.6 billion patacas) in recent years. “Macau’s hospitality and retail sectors continue to be important gateways for products from Portuguese-speaking countries entering Asian markets, supported by the city’s cultural familiarity with Portuguese cuisine”, the statement said.

The statement said that the event was attended by Consul General of Portugal in Hong Kong and Macau, Alexandre Leitão.

Moreover, BNU CEO and CCILC Macau President Carlos Cid Álvares was quoted by the statement as saying: “The Portuguese wine and dine annual dinner has gained traction, and this year we had more than 200 guests”, highlighting the partnership between the entities involved while adding that the event gave “people a real sense of Portuguese gastronomy.”

The statement also quoted various representatives. Among them, Casa de Portugal President Amélia António said: “This Portuguese Gourmet Feast plays a vital role in showcasing Portuguese products”, while Macanese chef Marina de Senna Fernandes noted that the June celebration “anchors us to our roots, honouring where our ancestors came from while reminding us how that beautifully shared history continues to flavour the vibrant, multicultural Macau we call home today”.
