After cleaning up an alley near Seng Yee Building in Iao Hon district, it’s not smelly anymore, Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) President Jose Fonseca Tavares said yesterday.

Pointing out a recent media report about the malodorous problem near the building, Ma Chi Heng, a member of the IACM Consultative Committee, urged the bureau during yesterday’s regular meeting at the bureau’s headquarters to improve the cleaning of the city’s residential areas.

According to a Macao Daily News report on Wednesday, the alley was very smelly as rubbish was piling up there, adding that rats and mosquitoes were commonly seen. The report described the alley as ‘the worst-smelling street in Macau’.
