The Wushu General Association of Macau announced in a statement yesterday that two local martial artists clinched gold and bronze medals at the Taolu World Cup (TWC) yesterday.
The event is hosted by the International Wushu Federation at Haikou city in Hainan province.
According to yesterday’s report by the Post, Taolu (套路) is a pre-arranged sequence of offensive and defensive techniques linked together in a continuous flow. It simulates a fight against multiple imaginary opponents.
In the men’s Qiangshu (槍術) final and the women’s Gunshu (棍術) final held yesterday morning, Macau athletes Kuong Chi Hin and Sou Cho Man respectively won a gold and a bronze medal.
According to DeepSeek, Qiangshu (“Spear Technique”) and is a category of martial arts styles and competitive events in Chinese martial arts (wushu) focused exclusively on the use of the spear; Gunshu (“Staff Technique”) is a major category of Chinese martial arts focused on the use of the staff.
Kuong won the gold medal in the men’s Qiangshu with a score of 9.74, securing Macau’s first gold medal of this competition, the statement said, adding that Sou won the bronze medal in the women’s Gunshu with a score of 9.72.
The Macau delegation has so far accumulated a total of one gold, two silver, and one bronze medals in the ongoing competition.
