Integrated resort City of Dreams (COD) will launch a new backstage tour of its signature production “House of Dancing Water” next Wednesday, giving visitors exclusive access to the inner workings of the internationally acclaimed aquatic show, according to a statement by COD on Wednesday.

The new “House of Dancing Water Show & Backstage Tour Package” will take guests behind the scenes of the production, offering a closer look at the technology, craftsmanship and personnel that bring the performance to life.

The tour, which lasts around 30 minutes, will begin in the theatre’s VVIP box or Golden Circle seating area before taking visitors to normally restricted backstage locations, including the underground diving area where professional divers and maintenance teams prepare for performances, the statement said, adding that guests will also learn how major stage props, including the Golden Boat and Dream Pagoda, operate and visit the show’s 17-million-litre performance pool, equivalent to more than five Olympic-sized swimming pools.

One of the highlights of the experience is access to an 18-metre-high platform above the stage, where visitors can enjoy the performers’ perspective of the theatre while learning about the intensive training, rapid costume changes and backstage coordination required for each performance, according to the statement.

The backstage tour is only available on the dates that have two shows, with tickets priced at 500 patacas per person, while show-and-tour packages start from 888 patacas, the statement said, adding that participants must be aged at least 12, and those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
