Meals provided by Lakeport Party Paradise, a restaurant at Lago Building in Taipa, caused food poisoning to five people in custody at the Public Security Police’s (PSP) Detention Centre, according to a statement by the Health Bureau (SSM) late last night.

The detention centre ordered takeaways from the restaurant between Monday and yesterday midday. Five people who were in custody awaiting deportation began to feel sick yesterday afternoon after eating the food provided by the restaurant.

The five patients were admitted to a hospital and later discharged and taken back to the detention centre by 5 p.m. yesterday.
