According to a statement by the Identification Services Bureau (DSI) yesterday, Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) passport holders can now enter Indonesia without a visa for stays of up to 30 days, following a new arrangement announced by the local government.

The government said it had been notified by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Hong Kong that holders of MSAR passports are now eligible for visa-free entry into Indonesia for a maximum stay of 30 days per visit, the statement said, adding that the measure expands travel convenience for Macau residents visiting the Southeast Asian nation for tourism and other short-term purposes.

Authorities reminded travellers that immigration and entry requirements may change and vary between destinations, the statement noted, adding that residents are also advised to check the latest entry requirements through Indonesia’s immigration authorities or consult the relevant embassy or consulate before departure.

Travellers should also ensure they have all necessary travel documents and complete any required formalities in advance to avoid disruptions to their journey, the statement said, pointing out that information on visa-free access and visa-on-arrival arrangements for holders of MSAR travel documents is available on the Identification Services Bureau website at https://www.dsi.gov.mo/en/visa
