Privacy chief’s resignation confirmed: report

The Personal Data Protection Office (GPDP) yesterday said its director Vasco Fong Man Chong has handed his resignation to Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On, who has approved it, according to government-owned broadcaster TDM.

Fong was appointed as the privacy office’s director in December 2014 on secondment from the Court of Second Instance (TSI) where he had worked as a judge.

Fong headed the Commission Against Corruption (CCAC) between 2009 and 2014, also on secondment from the Court of Second Instance.
