The Macau Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) will host a flower exhibition on Avenida da Praia in Taipa for National Ecology Day on August 15. The event will run until November 1 and aims to promote ecological conservation while deepening public awareness of environmental protection and conservation.

Themed “Natural Habitat”, the exhibition will feature nectar plants, as well as butterfly-attracting species, among others, according to a statement released by the bureau on Friday. It described the display as “an illustration of ecological interaction”.

Natural elements such as crude wood, rattan and stone materials will be incorporated into the free-admission exhibition, and panels featuring popular science information will also be installed, the statement noted.

In addition, the statement said that educational activities – including the “Urban Butterfly Dance Thematic Talk”, “Ecological Guided Tour on Observation of Butterflies Dancing among Flowers”, “Ecological Exploration of Nocturnal Search for Amphibians and Reptiles”, “excursion activities” and “Full Contact with Seac Pai Van Ecology” – are scheduled to take place from August 14 to 16. Registration for some of these activities is already full.

The statement added that popular science promotional and educational activities will be organised simultaneously in the Guangdong–Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.
