A team of students from Macau recently achieved “remarkable results” at the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship in California, returning home with three World Champion awards and one first runner-up title, the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTM) announced in a statement on Friday upon the delegation’s return.
The championship saw 135 competitors from around the world compete across six categories.
CPTTM highlighted that six of Macau’s eight-member delegation competed across the Microsoft Office categories. Four secured top awards, while two achieved sixth and eighth place globally. The local competitors included students from Pui Ching Middle School, Yuet Wah College, and St Paul School.
Meanwhile, two students also competed in the Adobe Certified Professional World Championship, which featured 56 contestants.
During a welcoming ceremony held on Friday, the students were praised for showcasing the excellence of Macau’s youth on the international stage and were encouraged to maintain their passion for technology and design.
The statement noted that the Centre had provided a two-phase training programme for the delegates, adding that CPTTM will continue partnering with the education sector to promote youth skills training and international competition opportunities.
