The “KAWO SPLASH BAZAAR” is taking place every weekend throughout this month at the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards in Coloane Village, offering free family-friendly activities, a creative market and themed attractions centred on the locally created intellectual property (IP) character KAWO, according to a statement on the District Development Centre (DDC Macao) website.

The carnival started at the weekend.

Presented by integrated resort operator Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), the event runs from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. every weekend until 30 August, the statement said, adding that admission is free.

The carnival transforms the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards into a summer event venue featuring Macau’s original IP character “Kawo”. Organisers said that the bazaar aims to combine local creative culture with outdoor leisure activities.

According to the statement, highlights include a Kawo-themed immersive experience, giant themed photo installations, a creative market featuring local handicrafts, snacks and beverages, as well as family activities such as kayaking and an outdoor sandpit for children.

The event is organised by GEG, with venue support from the DDC Macao, and co-organised by O2 Media, the statement said, adding that to facilitate access, free shuttle bus services operate every weekend between the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards, the Lotus Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Station and Coloane Village.

The “KAWO SPLASH BAZAAR” will continue every weekend throughout August, aiming to provide residents and visitors with free recreational activities, local creative products and family entertainment at the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards in Coloane, the statement noted.
