Integrated resort operator Melco Resorts & Entertainment has unveiled its latest luxury hotel REM at City of Dreams (COD), boasting 149 rooms and welcoming its first set of guests through a private invitation-only programme.

Set for a grand opening in October, the hotel takes its core concept and name from Rapid Eye Movement, the sleep stage where most vivid dreaming happens, while the brain is also almost as active as when awake.

“Built around this core concept, the hotel creates an immersive sanctuary between reality and imagination, where inspiration, discovery and sensory experiences converge”, the company said in a statement on Monday, noting that the newest addition, along with Morpheus and NÜWA, completes COD’s “dynamic luxury hospitality landscape”

The rooms are mainly composed of suites across seven room types, namely Premier Room, Twilight Suite, Luminous Suite, Euphoria Suite, Hypnotic Suite, The Haven, and The Lair. It also features a third-floor pool, dining options at “Reverie Café”, and a fitness centre with a “bright and open design”, among other lifestyle facilities.

“Through its exceptional guest experiences, bold and avant-garde design and highly personalised service, REM further enriches City of Dreams Macau’s portfolio of luxury hotels. The unique position as a destination where futuristic artistry, innovation and contemporary come together in the integrated luxury resort is reinforced, while supporting Macau’s strategic aspiration to develop as a ‘World Centre of Tourism and Leisure’”.

The statement said that more “exclusive privileges” will be unveiled in due time.
