In a statement issued by the Identification Services Bureau (DSI) yesterday, Macao SAR passport holders are now eligible for a gratis visa when arriving in Qatar, allowing stays of up to 30 days, according to a notification received by the local government from the Consulate General of Qatar in Hong Kong.
The arrangement took effect yesterday, the statement said, with eligible MSAR passport holders able to obtain a tourist visa on arrival without paying a visa fee for stays of up to 30 days.
The statement noted that travellers may refer to the consulate’s official website (https://hongkong.consulate.qa/en/services/consular-services#visa-for-macau) for details on the visa arrangement.
Residents planning to travel to Qatar are advised to check the latest entry requirements and policies through official government or consular channels before departure, as entry policies may vary between countries, the statement said, adding that travellers should also have the required documents according to their individual circumstances and complete any necessary procedures in advance to avoid disruptions to their journeys.
Information on visa-free entry or visas on arrival for holders of MSAR travel documents is also available through the bureau’s website (https://www.dsi.gov.mo/en/visa).
