The Sports and Olympic Committee of Macau, China (C.O.D.M.) announced on Tuesday that the Macau delegation for the 20th Asian Games has entered its final preparation stage.
The 2026 Asian Games will take place from September 19 to October 4 in Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya City, Japan. The Games will run for 16 days and feature 43 sports.
On Tuesday, the committee held its pre-Asian Games working meeting at the Athlete Training and Development Centre in Cotai.
According to a statement from the committee, delegation head Pun Weng Kun briefed all participating teams on departure procedures, arrival arrangements, and key guidelines for the competition. Pun encouraged the athletes to show a tenacious, never-give-up spirit, perform at their best, strive for success, and bring honour to Macau.
Fu Si Na, acting vice-president of the Sports Bureau (ID) and deputy head of the delegation, expressed her hope that participants would cherish the opportunity to represent Macau. She encouraged athletes to demonstrate good discipline, learn from the experience, broaden their horizons, and gain valuable exposure at the high-level event to help advance Macau’s sports sector.
The Macau delegation comprises 145 members, including 85 athletes and 41 team leaders, coaches, and technical support staff.
The delegation will compete in 15 sports: Aquatics (Swimming and Diving), Athletics, Badminton, Women’s 3×3 Basketball, Boxing, Cycling, Fencing, Golf, Karate, Squash, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Triathlon, Women’s Beach Volleyball, and Wushu.
