Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau will be presenting the “Four Hands, One Feast: Macau Meets Chengdu” this Friday and Saturday at the Kam Lai Heen restaurant, with the eight-course dinner themed “Grace from Macau, Fire from Chengdu”.
According to a Thursday statement by the hotel operator, the event, which starts at 7:00 p.m. on both days, will feature Kam Lai Heen Executive Chinese Chef Johnny Sin, and guest chef Ares Shi, the chef and founder of restaurants “Enco” and “Chaleur”.
“Chef Johnny grounds the menu in Cantonese craftsmanship, while Chef Ares answers with the bold flavours and aromatic intensity of his Sichuan roots. Across the evening, delicacy meets fire, with each course offering a different expression of their culinary perspectives”, according to the statement.
The statement said that Chef Johnny has over 25 years of culinary experience and developed a style “rooted in Cantonese tradition while remaining open to new ideas and techniques”, highlighting this through “Handcrafted Blue Lobster Siu Mai with Huadiao Wine Cream Sauce”, one of the dishes to be presented.
Chef Ares, meanwhile, brings together influences from Sichuan, Guangdong, and Western cuisine. Of his two restaurants, Chaleur earned this year’s Michelin Guide Selected Restaurant and Sommelier Award, the statement highlighted.
Chef Ares was also one of the 100 contestants in Tencent Video’s “The Divine Dish”, bringing one of his signature dishes presented during the contest: “Roasted Wagyu Beef with Sichuan Chopped Chili”.
The menu also features joint creations like “Poached Fish Maw in Chaozhou Style Fish Broth”, and “Braised Mindong Yellow Croaker with Yibin Preserved Vegetables”.
