The body of a middle-aged non-resident woman was found floating in the sea near One Central yesterday morning, the Judiciary Police (PJ) said in a statement.
According to the statement, the Macao Customs Service notified the Case Reporting and Emergency Operation Centre at 7:17 a.m. The woman was pronounced dead after being rushed to the public Conde S. Januário Hospital Centre.
On-site and hospital investigations by the police revealed no external injuries suggesting criminal involvement or violence.
The case has been officially classified as a “dead body found,” with the exact cause of death to be determined following an official autopsy and further investigation, the statement noted. It added that the case file has been transferred to the PJ’s Investigation Department for follow-up.
The statement did not say why the police confirmed the woman’s non-resident status.
