A medical centre has been forced to temporarily close on suspicion of storing illegally imported and expired medicines, according to a statement of the Health Bureau (SSM) yesterday.
Ai Wei Fu Medical Centre in Si Toi Commercial Building was one of the seven private clinics which were suspected of having provided in vitro fertilisation (IVF) services without a licence. The bureau raided the seven clinics last Monday.
SSM Pharmaceutical Affairs Department officials confirmed in the statement that the medical centre had stored 17 kinds of illegally imported medication, including a vaccination product, a human blood product and five kinds of hospital medication, 12 of which had expired.
