The local observatory said that the weather would remain generally fine from the coming days through the weekend under the influence of a high-pressure system aloft, with abundant sunshine and hot daytime temperatures, the statement said, adding that cloud cover was expected to be relatively low during the Mid-Autumn Festival, while skies at night should remain clear with good visibility, making conditions suitable for Moon viewing and watching the 34th Macau International Fireworks Display Contest.

The statement reminded residents and visitors planning outdoor activities to take precautions against the heat, including using sun protection and drinking enough water, the statement noted.
Meanwhile, a tropical cyclone is developing over waters east of the Philippines and expected to gradually move towards waters near China’s Taiwan region early next week, the statement said.
According to forecasts from conventional numerical models and AI models, the system is more likely to turn northeast over waters east of Taiwan. However, its projected track remains uncertain, with some forecast scenarios indicating that the system could move into the South China Sea around the National Day period, the statement noted.
