Chinese mainland golfer Wu Ashun and the UK’s 21-time professional tour champion Paul Casey have joined the field for the SJM Macao Open 2026, strengthening what organisers describe as “one of the tournament’s strongest fields”, according to a statement by SJM yesterday.

The event will take place next Thursday to Sunday at the Macau Golf & Country Club in Coloane, jointly organised by the Sports Bureau (ID), SJM Resorts and the International Management Group (IMG), and co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and the Macau Golf Association, the statement said.

Wu, a seven-time tour winner, was the first Chinese golfer to win a European Tour event on home soil, a Japan Golf Tour event and a tournament in Africa, the statement noted.

“It is always nice to play at home and I am excited to be playing at the SJM Macao Open this year,” Wu said, adding that “the support and cheers of local fans always help me compete better and I am looking forward to playing well at the Macau Golf & Country Club,” the statement said.

Casey, who will make his Macao Open debut, has recorded top-10 finishes in all four Majors, including a tied-second finish at the 2020 PGA (Professional Golfers’ Association) Championship, the statement underlined.

Meanwhile, the “American challenge” will include nine-time tour winner Kevin Sangwook Na, three-time Asian Tour winner Andy Ogletree and two-time Asian Tour winner Sihwan Kim, according to the statement.

Former Thai champions Rattanon Wannasrichan and Pavit Tangkamolprasert will also compete, seeking to become the fourth two-time champion, the statement said, adding that seven of the top 10 players in the 2026 Asian Tour Order of Merit are in the field.

Admission is free, with public registration for complimentary tickets now open at www.sjmmacaoopen.com.
