MGM and the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) jointly launched an Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) campaign on Thursday themed “Guard with Care, Safety Aware”, aiming to enhance staff awareness, health management, and safety in daily operations through a variety of activities, the integrated resort operator said in a statement yesterday.
The event for MGM staff launched with a ceremony held at the staff dining area “Home Base” at MGM COTAI with the “Vitality Cardio Stretching Exercise”. The statement added that the event featured the prize-giving of the “Work Happily, Work Safely Departmental Competition”, the “Healthy Restaurant Award 2026”, and “Occupational Safety Improvement Award 2026”.
Thursday’s ceremony was attended by several MGM and DSAL representatives including MGM China Holdings Limited Chief Executive Officer Kenneth Feng Xiaofeng and DSAL Deputy Director Chan Chon U.
MGM China Holdings Limited Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Kenneth Feng Xiaofeng was quoted by the statement as saying: “Our Safety Committee regularly reviews and continually enhances our safety management systems, while implementing innovative and effective educational initiatives to strengthen safety awareness and foster a strong culture of safety throughout the organisation.
Feng added: We will continue to work closely with the DSAL, strengthen exchanges and collaboration across the industry, and work together to further advance occupational safety and health standards in Macau, thereby protecting the well-being of our team members and their families.”
The statement highlighted several activities that the company hosted, including a series of OSH-themed sharing sessions and seminars to enhance staff’s “risk identification and emergency response capabilities”, with topics ranging from fire safety to related tips for the hotel industry. A quiz challenge and themed symposium were also recently held.
Meanwhile, for eight consecutive years, MGM and DSAL have held OSH roadshows at the integrated resort operator’s back-of-house areas, the statement said.
