Secretary for Administration and Justice Sonia Chan Hoi Fan said yesterday her office did not have a timetable for when it would finish analysing a Land Law amendment bill proposed by lawmakers Leonel Alves and Zheng Anting.

Chan made the remarks while speaking to reporters after the swearing-in ceremony of newly-appointed Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) Vice President Lo Chi Kin, at the IACM headquarters in Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro.

Chan said that her office had recently received the bill submitted by the two lawmakers. She said that her office would first need to translate the bill from Portuguese into Chinese, adding that the bill consists of many articles. “Please give us time to analyse [the bill],” she said.
