The Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP) was not asked to employ a mainland graduate from the Macau Polytechnic Institute (IPM) who recently told reporters that she had been hired through a “special channel”, SAFP Director Kou Peng Kuan said yesterday.
Kou also said some public entities were looking for “experienced” non-local candidates with “special talents”, based on recommendation by some famous higher education institutions in the mainland.
According to a report by Chinese-language newspaper Macao Daily News last Tuesday, a mainland student surnamed Li, who recently completed a Chinese-Portuguese translation and Interpretation bachelor’s degree course and achieved excellent academic results, said she had been recommended for a job in the government by IPM and had been recruited as a public servant through a “special channel”.
