Protected teahouse to be restored: govt

The owner of the listed former Lok Kok teahouse building has agreed to fully restore its exterior and partly its interior in accordance with its original appearance, Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) Cultural Heritage Department Chief Leong Wai Man said yesterday.

Leong made the remarks during a press briefing at Sir Robert Ho Tung Library arranged by the bureau to discuss a range of hot-button cultural issues.

Aside from Leong, IC President Leung Hio Ming, vice presidents Chan Peng Fai and Ieong Chi Kin, as well as Public Library Management Department Chief Ophelia Tang Mei Lin also attended the meeting.
