Councillor slams Taipa village roadworks

Taipa and Coloane Community Service Consultative Council member Yu Chi Man yesterday said that ongoing roadworks in Taipa Village have made it difficult for elderly residents to get about and has greatly affected the business of shops in the area.

Yu made the remarks during a regular meeting at a community service centre run by the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) in Taipa.

Buses and other large vehicles have been blocked from entering Rua Direita Carlos Eugénio due to large-scale roadworks in the area which started on June 4 and are expected to be completed by August 2, according to a notice by the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM).


Several construction workers yesterday lay concrete on the road in Rua Direita Carlos Eugénio which has been blocked for roadworks.
