Pearl Horizon pre-sale buyers yesterday petitioned Polytec, the developer of their ill-fated residential project, urging the company to act on the proposals submitted by nine lawmakers to the government and solve the dispute as soon as possible.

The project has been mothballed since the government decided in late 2015 to axe the troubled project’s temporary land concession that had expired. The government has repeatedly said that the issue must be solved in strict adherence with the Land Law. Hong Kong-based Polytec is suing the government over the matter.

Last week, nine lawmakers jointly submitted two proposals, addressed to Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On, in an attempt to solve the dispute. They suggested that the government tackle the row without having to amend the Land Law.
