Luso International Banking yesterday launched its mobile payment service in conjunction with Macau Pass, a local e-payment service provider, as representatives of the two companies signed a cooperation agreement during a launching ceremony at the bank’s headquarters in Nam Van.
Macau Pass introduced its first e-payment mobile app “MacauPay” at the beginning of last month. The app generates QR codes to be scanned with a point of sale (POS) machine or other devices by a cashier.
Users have to confirm their identity when creating a MacauPay account including scanning their identity card. MacauPay accounts can be linked to the users’ bank accounts.
