Woman nabbed for ‘theft by finding’: police

A Vietnamese woman was arrested on Sunday for finding and keeping a folder containing the owner’s personal information and some money, as well as telling the owner to pay her 500 patacas if she wanted her folder back, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Wong Wai Chon said at a regular press conference yesterday.

The folder contained the owner’s Philippine passport, some identification documents issued by the local government and 50 patacas, Wong said.

According to Wong, the woman who found the folder is a Vietnamese domestic helper surnamed Tran, who is around 30 years old. The owner of the folder is a Filipina domestic helper whose personal details were not given.
