There is a lot of activity for Macau’s fight enthusiasts’ tomorrow night, if boxing is your sport of choice: Macao Boxing House is holding its “Original Intention” fight night with five of the gym’s amateur boxers facing up against other amateurs from Hong Kong, the mainland and Taiwan.

Tomorrow night’s nine-bout card is one of the regular competitions that Macao Boxing House puts on with the aim of promoting boxing in the city. Macao Boxing House also organises White Collar Fight Nights in which office workers can train for a couple of months and then go a few rounds in the ring for charity.

But tomorrow is a night for the amateurs hoping to work their way up the boxing ladder with dreams of becoming a professional and the next Manny Pacquiao or Zou Shiming.

Earlier this week MPD Weekender went to the Macao Boxing House gym near Triangle Gardens to speak to the five local boxers. Some have fought in official competitions before and for others it will be the first time they will be facing unknown opponents.
