It is difficult for many gaming workers to take time off during the summer holidays which is the gaming industry’s high season, Macau Gaming Industry Employees Home President Lou Io Wa said yesterday, urging gaming operators to adopt more family-friendly measures so that their staff can have more time to spend with their families.
Lou made the remarks on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of the board members of the association at the headquarters of the Macau Federation of Trade Unions (commonly known as Gung Luen) in Rua da Ribeira do Patane.
Lou said some of the casinos are shorthanded, especially for front-line workers, such as dealers and supervisors, adding that, therefore, many of the casino workers find it hard to take any leave during the summer holidays.
