The grassroots New Macau Association (NMA) has responded to graft accusations by “former” NMA member Caruso Fong Ka Leong by filing a defamation complaint to the Public Prosecution Office (MP), according to NMA Vice President Sulu Sou Ka Hou.

However, Fong insists that he’s still a member of the association.

Fong urged the Public Prosecution Office (MP) on Thursday to investigate the alleged involvement of Andrew Cheong Su Kin, who chairs the association’s supervisory board, in disgraced chief public prosecutor Ho Chio Meng’s corruption case.

Ho was sentenced last month to 21 years for corruption and a raft of other crimes.
