We regret to inform our readers, advertisers and distributors that we are unable to publish today's issue because of the severe impact of Typhoon Hato. Due to the typhoon, electricity supply to our office was cut off between yesterday noon until late last night, too late for our team to put the newspaper together. Besides, the typhoon also caused some damage to our office, such as a window that simply vanished without a trace, requiring repairs that we expect to complete overnight. We hope that all of you are safe and sound.

Gold jewellery imports fall 64 pct in H1
Macau's gold jewellery imports dropped 64.2 percent year-on-year to 1.05 billion patacas in the first half of the year, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced today.
