Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On yesterday congratulated the city’s newly-elected lawmakers on their success, vowing that the government and the legislature will continue to adhere to the principle of “one country, two systems” to serve Macau people.
A statement by the Government Spokesperson’s Office yesterday quoted Chui as saying that he would like to express gratitude to all candidates and voters on behalf of the government for their participation in Sunday’s direct and indirect legislative elections.
Chui also thanked the Legislative Assembly Electoral Affairs Committee (CAEAL), General Audit Committee, related government entities and polling station workers for their contributions and the local media for reporting the elections widely and fairly.
