Neither civil servants nor other residents are satisfied with the government’s efficiency in responding to grassroots’ demands and its level of transparency, according to the findings of a survey conducted by the Macau Civil Servants Federation (MCSF) released yesterday.

Addressing a press conference about the findings of the survey at the federation’s office in Rua de Abreu Nunes, its president, Pang Kung Hou, said the survey aimed to explore the different attitudes of civil servants and other residents towards the government’s administration.

Citing the findings of the survey, O lai Heng, a researcher of the Macau Federation of Trade Unions’ (commonly known as Gung Luen) Government Affairs Committee, said civil servants and other residents’ grading of the government’s efficiency in responding to grassroots’ demands and opinions was below 5.5. According to O, the full mark is 10 while 5.5 or below means “dissatisfied”.
