The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested a man from the mainland on Sunday for robbing a female compatriot of 1,000 patacas and HK$8,000 in a hotel guestroom in Zape where he had sex with the victim before attacking her with pepper spray, PJ spokeswoman Lei Hon Nei said during a special press conference yesterday.

Lei identified the suspect as a 30-year-old computer technician surnamed Xue and the victim as a 30-year-old.

According to Lei, the victim met Xue in the lobby of a hotel in Zape at 5 a.m. on Sunday. Xue agreed to pay the victim HK$2,000 for sex.

The suspect and the victim slept after they had had sex in the victim’s guestroom. When the victim woke up, she found that 1,000 patacas and HK$8,000 in her handbag had disappeared. She also saw Xue leaving her guestroom. She told the suspect to pay her the HK$2,000 for her sexual services, Lei said.
