Transport Bureau (DSAT) Director Kelvin Lam Hin San said yesterday the government was planning to impose a ban on people entering a number of public car parks in the city’s low-lying areas one hour after the hoisting of the No. 8 typhoon warning signal.
Lam spoke to reporters after a regular meeting of the Traffic Consultative Council at his bureau.
The bureau has confirmed that four public underground car parks were flooded during the onslaught of Super Typhoon Hato in late August and that hundreds of cars, scooters and motorcycles were damaged in the four car parks.
