Govt saddened by senior falling to death in elderly home

The Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) said in a statement yesterday that it was saddened by an incident in which a senior citizen – whose gender was not revealed by the bureau – fell to his or her death from an elderly care home yesterday.

The Judiciary Police (PJ) said in a separate statement yesterday a female senior citizen was suspected of having jumped to her death in an elderly care home yesterday.

Neither statement revealed the name of the home.

The Judiciary Police identified the woman as a 91-year-old local surnamed Chao.
