The president of the legislature’s Follow-up Committee for Public Finance Affairs, Mak Soi Kun, said yesterday that the committee has decided to continue holdings its meetings behind closed doors during the legislature’s current four-year term.

Mak briefed reporters yesterday after a closed-door meeting of the committee, the first since the legislature’s current term started last month.

Article 93 of the Legislative Assembly Procedure Rules states that committee meetings are held behind closed doors, except for the situation when a resolution “for the opposite arrangement” has been passed. Article 93 does not state which entity of the legislature needs to pass such a resolution.
