Central District Community Service Consultative Council Deputy Convener Lok Nam Tak said the council’s members suggested yesterday that the government establish a bus fare adjustment mechanism in order to avoid a backlash from the public in the long run.
Lok made the remarks during a post-meeting press briefing at the Central Districts Residents’ Service Centre in Rotunda de Carlos da Maia. As is customary, the meeting took place behind closed doors.
Referring to the councillors’ suggestion, Lok said many residents did not understand the reasoning behind the government’s recently proposed bus fare hike.
