The Health Bureau’s (SSM) Centre for Disease Control and Prevention Director Lam Chong said yesterday that 25.5 percent of local adults are overweight while 5.1 percent are obese, according to a health survey conducted in 2016.
Lam made the remarks during a press conference about the Macau Health Survey 2016 at the bureau in Estrada do Visconde de S. Januário.
The survey took 2.802 local adults as samples, comprising 1,212 men and 1,590 women, between April and July last year. The bureau gave them questionnaires and carried out medical check-ups on them as well.
