Executive Council spokesman Leong Heng Teng said yesterday that the government will enlarge the organisational structure of the Identification Services Bureau (DSI) – by giving it one more deputy director and creating a new department in the bureau, with the aim of dealing more efficiently with the bureau’s rising work load.
Addressing a press conference at Government Headquarters, Leong said that the council, the government’s top advisory body, has completed its discussion of a by-law regarding the bureau’s new organisational structure.
According to Leong, the bureau will create a new department and four new divisions, in addition to the existing three departments and four divisions.
