You’ve probably just messaged a friend on WhatsApp, read some work-related e-mails and the only mail in your letterbox is bills.

Keeping in touch with family and friends couldn’t be easier now with technology because with just a tap on the ‘send’ button, instantly your message – the things you want to say to the person on the other side of the world – is delivered. It’s certainly brought people closer, but the convenience has led to the almost disappearing art and tradition of writing letters by hand.

In “Memories, Mailing, Here”, a drama-dance-exhibition piece taking place at Patane Library, attempts to evoke memories of when we used to go to the stationary shop to pick letter writing sets, get out our pens, write a letter, go to the post office and put stamps on the envelope and put the letter in the letter box.
