The government’s Tourism Crisis Management Office (GGCT) urged residents last night to avoid non-essential travel to Bali where a volcano could erupt soon.
According to newswire reports late last night, Indonesian authorities have raised a maximum alert as Mount Agung on Bali – an island that attracted nearly five million tourists last year – threatens to erupt.
The GGCT statement said that according to the local travel sector, no tour groups organised by local travel agencies are visiting the Indonesian island at the moment.
