Macau’s unemployment rate for local residents fell 0.1 percentage point to 2.6 percent in the August-October survey period compared to the July-September period, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) announced yesterday.
The city’s overall unemployment rate – comprising local and non-local workers – dropped 0.1 percentage point to 1.9 percent.
Macau’s total labour force stood at 387,200 between August and October when the labour force participation rate amounted to 70.8 percent. Total employment stood at 379,800, while the total number of employed residents amounted to 279,900, down by 1,400 and 1,300 respectively from the previous period.
