Central Districts Community Service Consultative Council member Ho Weng Hong yesterday called for the government to convert the waterfront along Nape into a promenade with the aim of providing a leisure area for residents and tourists alike.
Ho, a senior member of the Macau General Union of Neighbourhood Associations (commonly known as Kai Fong), made the remarks during a regular meeting of the council at the Central Districts Residents’ Service Centre in Rotunda de Carlos da Maia – popularly known as “Three Lamps”.
Avenida Dr. Sun Yat-Sen runs along the waterfront of Nape before ending at Macau Tower. For the Nape section, the avenue starts at Macau Fisherman’s Wharf and continues past the Macau Science Centre, Kun Iam Statue and MGM. Leaving the Nape section at MGM, the avenue continues under the Governor Nobre de Carvalho Bridge (commonly known as Old Bridge), before ending at Macau Tower.
