MGM China CEO and Executive Director Grant Bowie said yesterday that the company was still waiting for the government to approve the number of gaming tables it can operate at MGM COTAI, slated to open on January 29.
Bowie made the remarks while speaking to reporters after the launch ceremony at MGM Macau of its joint effort with local telecom operator CTM to provide a cloud data backup service to its local small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) vendors who have lost important data and billing records due to water damage during last year’s Super Typhoon Hato.
According to Bowie, MGM will cover 50 percent of the costs of the cloud data backup service, and has so far sponsored about 70 local SME vendors to use it.
