A local teenager was hit by a concert ticket selling scam, in which she lost a total of 14,600 yuan, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokeswoman Yeung Sau Chan said during a regular press conference yesterday.

Yeung identified the female victim as a 19-year-old high school pupil surnamed Ng.

According to Yeung, in the small hours of Sunday morning Ng saw a post on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo about tickets for sale for a K-pop group’s concert at Studio City that night. Ng contacted the seller to buy two tickets for Zone A for 6,800 yuan the pair. Ng transferred the amount via the online payment platform Alipay.
