The co-owners of Red Frog Speakeasy Bar in Lisbon are in town, serving guests at Mandarin Oriental their “prohibition era” and Portuguese influenced cocktails.
Established just two years ago, Red Frog has earned the “World’s 100 Best Bars” accolade.
During a media event at Mandarin Oriental on Wednesday, Red Frog co-owners Emanuel Minêz and Paulo Gomes prepared three of its bar’s signature cocktails, starting the Portuguese tapas dinner with a refreshing Star Fizz – a blend of Star of Bombay Gin, St. Germain, Champagne, elderflower cordial, egg white and Shiso tincture.

To match the myriad of flavours of tapas, the duo presented Red Frog Sangria using Portuguese red wine, five spiced syrup, citrus juice, orange liqueur, cucumber skin and mint, and to cleanse the palette before the meatier dish, they prepared the Midnight Smugglers – a mix of Old Town Gin, spiced syrup, lemon, Kamm & Sons aperitif, and ginger beer.
