The police arrested a woman from the mainland and another from Indonesia for their involvement in two separate theft cases, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Choi Ian Fai said during a special press conference at the PJ headquarters in Zape yesterday.

Choi identified the suspect in the first case as a 32-year-old woman from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region surnamed Sun.

According to Choi, three men from the mainland reported on separate occasions to the police they had either money or valuables stolen. After investigating, the police found that one of the victims met a woman in a casino on January 18, from where they went to a guestroom in a hotel in Cotai. When the victim went to the bathroom, Sun took HK$55,000 cash out of his bag and left immediately.
