Transport Bureau (DSAT) Director Kelvin Lam Hin San reaffirmed yesterday that the city’s 100 new common taxis will have to be electric vehicles as the government is convinced that e-cabs are suitable for Macau.

Lam spoke to reporters after a regular meeting of the government-appointed Traffic Consultative Council at the bureau.

The Transport Bureau (DSAT) announced last week that the owners of 100 new common taxi licences will have to use electric vehicles (EVs) for their cabs.
