Sands China said in a statement yesterday that from Friday, the first day of the Chinese New Year of the Dog, it will grant paid paternity leave.
Sands China President Wilfred Wong Ying-wai said in the statement that the new benefit was the company’s acknowledgement of the important role of fathers in the family.
“With this new policy, fathers of newborns will have time to be with their families to enjoy this important milestone of life and to support them, helping maintain a harmonious family life,” Wong said, adding that the company valued its employees’ wellbeing and work-life balance and was committed to the implementation of “people-orientated” employment principles and guidelines.
