Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) President Jose Fonseca Tavares revealed yesterday his bureau has fined 17 eateries during the Chinese New Year (CNY) period for not having informed his bureau of the changes to the prices on their menus.
Tavares made the remarks while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a CNY activity in Coloane.
According to a decree-law enacted in 1996, while eateries are allowed to set the prices of its meals and drinks, their owners are required to inform the bureau of the prices on their menus.
